Terms and Conditions
Last updated: Oct 28, 2026
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
StyleAI is operated by StyleAI B.V., a private limited company with its statutory seat in Amsterdam, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KVK) under number 96804661 ("StyleAI", "we", "us"). Contact: contact@styleai.me.
- Section 2 applies to everyone who visits styleai.me.
- Sections 3 to 17 apply to every business that uses StyleAI on its online store ("you", "the store"), whether through the StyleAI app for Shopify or under an agreement signed with us.
The service is for businesses only. By installing the StyleAI app, approving a plan, signing an order with us, or using the service after we have sent you these terms, you accept them on behalf of your business. We make these terms available at styleai.me/terms before you sign up, in a form you can save and print.
If you have signed an agreement or order with us, it applies together with these terms. Where they conflict, the signed agreement wins. Section 17 (data processing terms) wins over everything else on the handling of personal data. Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we process and is part of these terms. We do not accept your own general terms and conditions.
2. Using styleai.me
- Information only. The website describes StyleAI and its products. It is not an offer, and what it shows may change. Prices and terms for a store are those in its Shopify plan or its signed order.
- Fair use. Do not try to break into, overload, copy at scale, or harm the website, and do not use it for anything unlawful.
- Our content. The text, images, videos, logos and the StyleAI name on the website belong to us or our licensors. You may view and share links to them. You may not copy or reuse them otherwise without our written permission.
- Other websites. Links to other websites, such as our booking calendar, are for convenience. Those websites have their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
- Liability. We provide the website as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss caused by using it. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms limits the rights the law of your country gives you.
- Law. Dutch law applies to the use of the website. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live and may go to the courts there.
3. The service
StyleAI is an AI assistant that a store places on its own website (the "service"). Depending on your plan or order, it includes:
- Concierge: a styling chat that answers shoppers and suggests products from your catalogue;
- Product answers (PDP): a box on product pages that answers questions about that product;
- Dynamic Search: a search box that understands what shoppers describe and shows matching products;
- StyleAI Manager: where your team and ours set up the assistant and see its conversations, questions and search insights;
- the StyleAI app for Shopify: which connects a Shopify store and keeps its products in sync.
Your plan or order says which of these you get, for which websites, and any usage limits.
4. Signing up and Manager accounts
- Through Shopify: you sign up by installing the StyleAI app and approving a plan. The person who installs it confirms they may bind the store.
- Directly with us: you sign up by signing an order or agreement with us.
- Manager accounts: each person who uses StyleAI Manager signs in with their own account. Do not share sign-ins. You are responsible for who you ask us to give access to, and for telling us when someone should lose it.
- Your details: keep your contact and billing details up to date. Tell us straight away at contact@styleai.me if you think an account has been misused.
5. Fees and payment
- Through Shopify: Shopify bills you for your StyleAI plan, at the price and with any free trial shown when you approve it. Shopify's billing rules apply to payment, plan changes and cancellation. Fees already charged are not refunded for part of a billing period, unless the law requires it or we agree otherwise.
- Directly with us: we invoice the fees in your order, in euros and excluding VAT. Invoices are due within 30 days. If an invoice is late, we may charge the Dutch statutory commercial interest (article 6:119a of the Dutch Civil Code) and, after a written reminder, suspend the service until it is paid.
- Pilots: if we agree a free or reduced-price pilot, your order sets its length and price. These terms apply to it in full.
- Price changes: we tell you at least 30 days before a price change applies to you. You can end the service before then (section 14).
6. Your content and your store
"Your content" means your catalogue and product data, images, brand guidance, knowledge you give us, product notes and settings.
- You own your content. You give us a non-exclusive licence to use it, during the agreement, only to provide the service: to store it, process it, and show it and answers based on it to your shoppers.
- You have the rights. You confirm you may give us your content and that showing it to shoppers does not infringe anyone's rights.
- You stay the seller. Your offers, prices, stock, delivery, returns and the information you sell with remain your responsibility under consumer and product law. The assistant works from the content you provide; keep it accurate and current.
- Your privacy policy. You tell your shoppers, in your own privacy policy, that you use StyleAI as a service provider for the assistant on your website.
- Your website. You place our script on your website as we instruct. You are responsible for your website, including its accessibility and its cookie consent. The assistant itself sets no cookies.
7. AI answers and the AI notice
- Answers come from AI. The assistant's answers are generated by an AI model from your content. We design it to answer from your content and to say when something is not in your record, but AI answers can still be wrong or incomplete. They are suggestions, not promises made by us.
- The AI notice is ours to provide. Under the EU AI Act, StyleAI is the provider of the assistant and makes sure shoppers are told they are talking to an AI. You must not hide, remove, cover or change that notice, present the assistant as a person, or remove the machine-readable label that marks its answers as AI-generated.
- Your guidance. Do not instruct the assistant to make false or misleading claims, to treat shoppers unfairly, or to ask shoppers for sensitive information such as health, religion, ethnic origin or sexual orientation. If a shopper volunteers such information, we handle it only as part of that conversation (section 17).
- Its purpose. The assistant helps shoppers choose products. Do not use it for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on shoppers, or for any purpose the EU AI Act prohibits or treats as high-risk.
8. Acceptable use and limits
You may not, and may not let anyone else:
- use the service for anything unlawful, or to process content you have no right to use;
- try to get around its security, usage limits or the AI notice, or to reach another store's data;
- copy, decompile or reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it;
- scrape or extract the service's output in bulk, or test its load, without our written agreement;
- use the service or its output to build a competing product;
- resell or give access to the service to anyone outside your business without our written agreement.
We may set reasonable usage limits to protect the service for all stores, such as a number of conversations or searches a day. Your plan or order states any limit that applies to you, and we tell you before we change one.
9. Shoppers
Shoppers who use the assistant on your website are your customers, not ours. They use it under your website's terms and your privacy policy. We have no contract with them, and nothing in these terms gives them rights against us. For their personal data, you are the controller and we are your processor (section 17).
10. Ownership, data use and references
- Ours. The service, its software, prompts, designs and the StyleAI name belong to us or our licensors. You get the right to use the service during the agreement, for your own store, and no other rights.
- Yours. Your content stays yours (section 6). You may use the answers and search results the assistant produces for your store.
- No AI training. We do not use your content or your shoppers' conversations to train AI models.
- Statistics. We may use aggregated statistics about how the service performs, which identify neither you nor any shopper, to run and improve the service and to describe its results in general terms.
- Feedback. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely.
- Naming you as a customer. We may name your store and show its logo as a StyleAI customer on our website and in sales material. Tell us at any time and we will stop. We publish your figures, quotes or a case study only with your written consent.
11. Availability, support and changes
- Availability. We work to keep the service available and fast, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, unless your order includes a service level. We plan maintenance for quiet hours where we can.
- Support. Write to contact@styleai.me. We answer on Dutch working days.
- Changes to the service. We improve the service over time and may change how it works. We will not remove a main feature of your paid plan during a period you have paid for without telling you in advance. If a change materially reduces what you get, you can end the service (section 14).
12. Confidentiality
Each of us keeps the other's non-public business information confidential and uses it only for this agreement. This does not cover information that is public, that the receiver already had or developed independently, or that the law or a court requires to be disclosed. This duty lasts during the agreement and for three years after it ends.
13. Liability
- Cap. Our total liability to you, for all claims together, including under section 17, is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event that caused the loss, with a minimum of €500.
- Excluded loss. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost revenue, lost sales, damage to reputation, or loss caused by the content you provided or by an AI answer you did not correct.
- What is not limited. These limits do not apply to loss caused by the intent or deliberate recklessness (opzet of bewuste roekeloosheid) of our management, or where the law does not allow liability to be limited.
- Time limit. You must report a claim to us in writing within 12 months after you became aware of the loss, or the claim lapses.
- Your content. You hold us harmless against claims from others that arise from your content or from your breach of these terms.
14. Term, suspension and ending
- Through Shopify: the agreement runs while the StyleAI app is installed on your store. You end it by uninstalling the app.
- Directly with us: the agreement runs for the term in your order. If your order sets no term, it runs month to month and either of us can end it with 30 days' written notice.
- Ending for cause: either of us can end the agreement in writing with immediate effect if the other seriously breaches it and does not fix the breach within 30 days of a written notice, or if the other is declared bankrupt or granted a suspension of payments.
- Ending after a change: you can end the agreement before a price change or a material reduction of the service applies to you. We then refund fees you prepaid for the period after the end. Otherwise, fees for the current period are not refunded.
- Suspension: we may suspend the service if an invoice is unpaid after a written reminder, if your use puts the service or other stores at risk, or if you breach section 7 or 8. We warn you first where we can, and restore the service once the cause is fixed.
- Your data at the end, direct agreements: within 30 days after the end, you can ask us for an export of your conversations, product questions, search records and settings. After those 30 days we delete them, as set out in section 17.
- Your data at the end, Shopify: uninstalling starts Shopify's deletion process, described in section 4 of our Privacy Policy. If you want an export, ask us at contact@styleai.me before you uninstall.
Sections 10, 12, 13, 16 and 17 continue to apply after the agreement ends, as far as needed.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. For a change that materially affects stores, we email you at least 30 days before it applies. If you do not agree, you can end the agreement before then. If you keep using the service after that date, the new terms apply.
16. Law and disputes
Dutch law governs these terms and every agreement with stores. Disputes go to the competent court in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. If a provision of these terms is invalid, the rest still applies, and the invalid provision is replaced by a valid one that comes closest to its purpose.
17. Data processing terms
This section is the agreement required by article 28 of the GDPR. For your shoppers' personal data, you are the controller and we are your processor.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Subject and purpose | Providing the assistant on your website and reporting its use to you |
| Duration | The agreement, then until deletion under this section |
| Nature | Receiving, storing, analysing and answering shopper messages, product questions and searches; generating answers with AI; producing usage statistics |
| People concerned | Shoppers and other visitors who use the assistant on your website |
| Personal data | Chat messages, product questions and the answers shown, search terms and filters, descriptions of photos (photos and audio are processed briefly and not stored on our servers), language, the product a conversation started from, usage events, and the IP address and browser type in request logs. The full list is in section 3 of our Privacy Policy. |
| Sensitive data | Not asked for. A shopper may volunteer it in a message; it is then handled as part of that conversation only. |
We will:
- Follow your instructions. We process the data only on your documented instructions: these terms, your order, your assistant's settings and your written instructions, including for transfers outside the EEA. If EU or Dutch law requires other processing, we tell you first unless the law forbids it. If we think an instruction breaks data protection law, we tell you.
- Keep it confidential. Everyone we authorise to process the data is bound to confidentiality.
- Keep it secure. We apply the measures in section 10 of our Privacy Policy and keep them appropriate to the risk (article 32 GDPR).
- Use subprocessors only as agreed. You authorise the subprocessors listed in section 6 of our Privacy Policy. We email you at least 30 days before adding or replacing one. You can object on reasonable data protection grounds within that period. If we cannot resolve your objection, you can end the affected service and we refund fees you prepaid for the period after the end. Each subprocessor is bound by data protection obligations equivalent to these, and we remain responsible to you for its work.
- Transfer outside the EEA only with safeguards, as set out in section 7 of our Privacy Policy.
- Help with shoppers' requests. We pass on any request we receive from a shopper without undue delay, and help you answer it.
- Help with your obligations under articles 32 to 36 of the GDPR, such as security, breach notification and data protection impact assessments, taking into account the information we have.
- Report breaches. We tell you without undue delay, and at the latest within 48 hours after becoming aware, of a personal data breach affecting your data, with the information we have at that time.
- Keep data no longer than needed. During the agreement we keep conversations, product questions and search records for 12 months, or for a shorter period if you ask. At the end, we delete them as set out in section 14, unless the law requires us to keep them. Deleted data can remain in our backups for up to 30 days.
- Show compliance. We give you the information you need to show we meet these obligations. Once a year, on 30 days' notice, you or an independent auditor bound by confidentiality may audit us, at your cost. More often if a supervisory authority requires it or after a breach.
You are responsible for having a lawful basis for the processing and for informing your shoppers (section 6). Section 13 applies to liability under this section.
